Welcome

The Dayton Institute of Applied Sport Sciences is committed to helping athletes, coaches, teams, and their families enrich their lives through sport participation by: enhancing skill acquisition, facilitating personal growth, testing and assessment of athlete skills, and maximizing sport performance and enjoyment. The Institute also conducts scientific research within the field of applied sport sciences.

On September 9, 2005 we officially changed our name from the Dayton Institute of Sport Psychology to the Dayton Institute of Applied Sport Sciences. The name change came about after Joe Tedesco attended the International Congress of Sport Psychology in Sydney, Australia held in August, 2005. The term sport psychology is too narrow and limited to fully describe all the sciences involved in sport enhancement.  The future of sport improvement will involve a large array of new and exciting techniques.  The Institute of Applied Sport Sciences promises to move into the future applying the best research based techniques that will make for better and happier athletes.
